About the Founder

Dr. Angela Gordon-Nichols (Dr. Nichols) is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through Madriella Doula Network since 2018 and has been certified in Yoni Steaming since 2020.  She also holds a B.A. in Psychology, M.S. in Counseling and Career Guidance, and a Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology.  She is a retired social worker after 21 years of service.

Dr. Nichols is a full spectrum Doula and uses all of her skills to help the pregnant woman make informed decisions about her birthing plans, whatever they may be.  

Dr. Nichols is a mother of three children and a grandmother of three.  She has been an advocate for  natural birth for 43 years and delivered all of her children naturally using the Lamaze method.  When working with her mothers, she continues to use a modified form of Lamaze to teach mothers pain management.  

Dr. Nichols became a Doula after experiencing her first home birth with her youngest daughter.  After experiencing the joy of helping to bring a new life into the world and learning that African American women/infants have the highest mortality rate in the country, she found a calling to serve on the frontline to help reduce these rates.

Dr. Nichols primarily serves the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino County) area but has served Los Angeles County as well.
